Iceland
Landmannalaugur is a spectacular volcanic area within the Fjallabak Nature Reserve in southern Iceland. Vivid green mosses and other primitive plants contrast with the dark volcanic lava. This is one of my favourite images, and dates from a photography assignment in 1990 when I was on working on commissions for Berghaus, Science Photo Library, and Arctic Experience.
